Where Can I Find Ce Marking
If you are thinking of buying a product in the UK or in the European Union and you want to know if it has CE marking, there are several ways to find out.
Most products which have CE marking will be clearly labelled somewhere on the product. If you are in a shop you should be able to find the CE mark on the product or on the outer packaging of the product if it is packaged.
If you can’t see CE marking then it is always advisable to ask the nearest available shop assistant. If the nearest available shop assistant cannot help you then the next step is to ask the manager of the shop.
If they do not know if the product has CE marking and you cannot find the CE mark anywhere on the product or the product packaging then do not buy the product then and there.
The best thing you can do if you cannot find the CE mark on a product and have explored all the other avenues is to contact the manufacturer of the product directly. This can usually be done online through the manufacturer’s website.
However, larger manufacturers will have large sites and lots of customers so sending an email to their help desk ...
... will probably be quite a slow option. If you want a quick answer about whether or not the product you want to buy has CE marking then look for a helpline or an enquiry number so that you can call the manufacturer directly.
If you are already buying a product online and want to know if it has CE marking then the first place to look is in the small print associated with the product. If you cannot see anything relating to a product having CE marking then see if you can find any information about CE marking on the rest of the site.
If you cannot find any information about CE marking here then the next step is to either email the manufacturer through their website, which may mean you get a very slow reply, or you can phone the manufacturer directly.
If you’re not sure whether a product you want to buy need the CE mark you can use your best judgement to decide whether the product could be potentially dangerous. If you think the product could present a danger then it should nost probably contain CE Marking.
