Why Should I Check For Ce Marking

Many types of products sold within the European Union have a CE Mark. This mark denotes that the products have been tested to ensure that they are safe to be used for whatever purpose they are designed.
Not only is a CE mark a sign of safety, it is also a sign of quality that shows that products have been well made using high quality materials.
It’s particularly important to check that electrical items meet with European safety standards as a sub standard electrical item could malfunction and may be dangerous.
It is equally important to check for CE marking on any products designed to be used by babies or children such as car seats, high chairs or prams. A CE marking approval indicates that items like these have undergone a series of rigorous safety tests to ensure that they do not pose any danger to babies or children using them.
Having a CE mark also protects your statutory rights with regard to claiming compensation should you or a member of your family be injured by a faulty item. In addition a CE mark also means that you are within your rights to return items that do not function as they should.

... Additionally, if you are a manufacturer and you want to sell your items within the EU it is always recommended that you attain a CE mark for this product. You can perform the process of testing and assessing yourself in order to gain the mark or it can be outsourced.
Although it is not a highly complex process protocol does need to be followed rigorously and paperwork needs to be filled in correctly to apply for a CE mark. This means that in many cases it is easier to outsource the process to another body as it could end up taking lots of your time, which is of course a valuable resource.
Once you have achieved CE marking for your product you are then legally able to sell it all over the European union so achieving the CE mark can be a huge boost to your business because it can open up several other avenues with regard to European trade.
A CE mark can normally be found stamped or printed onto an item or on an item label. If you want to buy a product but can’t find the CE mark then it’s advisable to ask a shop assistant if the product has the mark.
If shopping on the internet and it is not stated whether or not the product you are hoping to buy has the CE mark then you will need to contact the website you wish to buy it from or the manufacturer to ensure that the product meets with European standards.
