Do You Have The Right Home Phone Calling Plan?
Every home phone user will be on a particular calling plan. This article asks you to find out if you are using the right one. If you’re not, you could be paying more for your phone service than you need to.
Most of us have a telephone line installed at home. Even though mobile phones have become so popular that the majority of us now own one, we still have the need to have a so-called landline.
But how often do you check to see whether you have got the best deal? It doesn’t matter whether you have a BT Home Phone or a phone from another company. If you don’t check whether you have the best plan you could be wasting money every single month.
The first thing you should think about is whether your calling plan matches your needs. Think about when you are most often at home, and thus when you usually use the phone. If you work full time, 9 to 5, five days a week, you’ll be home in the evenings and on the weekends. So if you have a calling plan that requires you to pay more money each month in order to get free calls right around the clock, you may not have the best deal you could get.
Now ...
... let’s look at another example. Let’s say you work from home, which pretty much means you set your own hours and work during the week and sometimes on the weekends as well – or vice versa. Your pattern of phone use in this situation is going to be very different to the example given above. You could be making calls at 9am in the morning on a weekday, or at 3pm in the afternoon. Similarly you might call some clients at the weekend, if that suits you (and them) better. So you’re not going to have a strict pattern of when you use the phone, because you’ll make calls all over the place.
In this case you will benefit from having a plan that enables you to make cheap (or even free) calls all the time for a monthly fee. If you’re only getting free calls on the weekends and in the evenings, you’re not going to benefit from the most cost effective deal for your BT Home Phone Offers.
It’s worth bearing this in mind if you ever decide to change to another provider as well. You will probably find that most providers have similar calling plans, but you need to be sure you are on the right one. So take the time to find out whether you are, and whether you could save money by going elsewhere, no matter who you are with now.
The way you use your phone has a direct relevance to how much you pay for it. So use this knowledge to help bring down your bills and to ensure you are on the right plan all the time from now on.
