Entertaining people without music is difficult. This is because music not only has an external appeal to the people, but it also affects them internally by touching the strings of their heart. Since it came into existence, it has retained its position and always remained one of the best means of providing relaxation and peace of mind to the listeners. Starting from the classical form, it has now evolved into genres, like pop, jazz, hip hop, etc. Among all the above-mentioned form of music genres, the hip hop is the most prominent one. Midwest hip hop, however, needs a special mention while discussing about this type of music genre.

The hip-hop music that is performed by the artists specifically from the Midwestern United States is referred to as the Midwest hip hop. This is the type of music that has very few constants and hence they are considered to be a special type of music genre. It was the fast-paced style of the Midwest hip hop rap that became the reason for its popularity during the mid 90s. Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid and Eminem are some of the rappers who were the first to introduce this form of ...
... hip hop to the public, making it the rival of the styles that were used by the East and West Coast hip hop.

The variations that are found in the different kinds of hip hop music being produced by different cities make it really very difficult to identify the typical traits of the Midwest hip hop sound. One of the features of the hip-hop music of the Midwest that distinguishes it from the East and West Coast style is the beat tempos. The beat tempos of the Midwest hip hop ranges from 90 to 180 (approx.), whereas for East coast’s hip hop, it is from 90 to120, for West Coast, it is 100-120 and for Southern sound, it ranges from 80 to 110.

The special attributes of the Midwest hip hop are the main reasons behind its popularity and appreciation among the music lovers and entertainment seekers. There are several cities, the names of which can be mentioned when it comes to the production of the best hip-hop music from the Midwest. The names include Michigan, Cleveland, Kansas City, Omaha, Cincinnati, Madison, and St. Louis, etc. However, among them, the most prominent and most popular is the Chicago hip hop that has become the first choice of most of the music lovers.
