The Common Admission Test or CAT is an exam which is a pre-requisite to securing an admission to the most premier B-schools in the country. It is considered to be one of the toughest exams in the country and is conducted by the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management. The exam is normally conducted during a 20 day period and the candidate is allowed to appear for the exam only once during this window. The official dates for the CAT 2012 have not been announced as yet, but it is expected to be held around the last week of October. CAT 2012 exam will be a 2 section, 30 questions per section exam with duration, 2 hours and 35 minutes, including 15 minutes for instructions prior to the commencement of the actual exam. The students will be given 1 hour and 10 minutes for each section. The marking varies each year, marks are given for every right answer and deducted for every incorrect answer.
