I went to bed at 11 p.m. There was the light snow outside of the window. I shrink to quilt inside, and picked up the alarm clock, but found that the alarm clock stopped. Oh, I forgot to buy batteries. It was so cold. I did not want to get up again. So I gave my mother a long distance phone call: “Mom, my alarm clock didn’t work, but I have to go the company meeting tomorrow early morning. Could you call me get up at six o’clock?” Mother may have fallen asleep in the other side of the phone, answering with a little dumb voice: “dear, ok.”

When the phone rang I am doing a dream, the sky is black outside. Mother over there said: “Dear, get up quickly, you have meeting today.” I raised my hand and looked at the watch, and only five forty. I am impatient to call up: “Didn’t I ask you to call me at six o’clock? I would like to sleep a little longer. It was your stir!” Mom did not speak at the other end suddenly, and I hung up the phone.

I washed up and then went out. The weather is so cold. And the snow is fluttering, making everywhere white. I keep stamping my feet at the bus station. It is ...
... dark around me, but next to me standing two white-haired old men. I hear the old man said to the old woman: “You see you have not slept well all night, and began to urge me before a few hours. But now we have to wait so long.”

Yeah, the first bus would take another five minutes to come. Finally the bus is coming. I get on the bus. The driver is a very young man. After I get on the bus, he drove off. I said: “Hey, driver, there are two old men outside. The weather is so cold. And they wait too long time. Why do you drive off the bus before they get on?” The young man said very vigorously: “Never mind, they are my mom and dad. Today is my first day to drive the bus. They come to look at me.”

I suddenly started to cry. I saw my father sent a short message: “My daughter, your mother said, she is not good, she has not slept well, and woke up early, worried that you will be late. So she call you get up earlier.”

At this time, I suddenly remember a Jewish proverb:
When the father gives something to his son, the son laughed.
When the son gives something to his father, the father cried.
