There are a wide variety of strobe light fixtures for emergency vehicles which need to send out a very strong, penetrative and focused warning signal, either to caution others on the road or to request for help in a crisis situation. The power wattage rating of strobe lamps varies quite a bit and you can pick these light heads based on your requirement as well as the budget. While highly powerful strobe lights come with some advanced features they might also cost well above $100. You can get these strobe lamps in all shapes and sizes as well.

You can now get a strobe light in rectangular, circular, square or oval shape and it is purely up to individual preference to pick any of them. Some of the advanced strobe light models come with sonic welding housing. Thermally efficient materials are used for the casing of these lights so that the heat is dissipated quickly and hence prevented from affecting the functioning of the light sources. It is important to remember that not all LEDs function at peak capabilities at higher temperatures. For the same reasons, some strobe light heads come ...
... with special controls. These include intensity control and beam temperature control knobs which help you to optimize the usage of these lights.

Another option for the housing of strobe light is steel which can come with a black enamel finish. These housings are sturdy and make the lights vibration and high impact resistant. With such a reliable housing the lights tend to last for a long time in spite of heavy duty usage. When you purchase strobe lights, you get a very extensive mounting hardware kit along with an enclosed switch box. Advanced switch panels for emergency lighting usually contain more than one variety of switches, with each of them performing a different function.

For example, some strobe light fixtures have a simple push button switch for turning the lights on and off. There are special 6 or 7-position slide or rotary switches which are also useful to adjust the intensity, turn on the flash patterns or change them to default ones. A wide variety of flash patterns are built into emergency lights these days which is why strobe light heads need a user friendly interface to actually operate the light heads effectively. Scan Lock flash patterns are present in some cases, to easily select and lock the desired flash pattern.

The lighting output of the strobe light heads varies with the power wattage but it must be noted that the luminosity is highest in case of light emitting diodes. The lighting output is maximized in case of LEDs largely because of their energy efficiency and low heat dissipation. Also, the peak currents are quite low in the circuits, which allow you to use a simple 12 V power supply which proves to be more than adequate for the lights. You will get 5 or 10 inch interconnectors, shielded power cables and spare switches in the kit to make sure you are well equipped for your emergency lighting purposes.
