Planning a company event can be stressful, and the more people you have working in your offices the more stress is added. One phenomenon that is growing in popularity is the idea of the come and go open house. Employees from a company are invited to attend a certain location within a time frame, with no expectations of arrival or departure. At the event itself there are usually games and other social events, and of course there is always food.

The problem with food at these events is that you never know just how many people might show up, or when they will arrive. If you want to avoid the additional stress of planning out the amount of food and its cooking for the event, your best bet is to rely on the services of a proven caterer.

Not all caterers are equal

Not all caterers will have the experience or the expertise necessary to supply food for 1000 people. It is very important that you check the background of your caterer to make sure that they have worked at several similar sized events before, and that they have a record of success when they have done so.

A lot of people doesn't have to mean hot ...
... dogs!

Many companies want their staff occasions to be memorable, and for the most part, the type of food being served will lay the foundation for those memories. Just because you are expecting a lot of people, though, does not mean that you have to offer the typical fare such as hot dogs and hamburgers.

On the contrary, an experienced caterer can work with almost any budget and include food that many people will be delightfully surprised to find at a company get together. Chicken, pork, even steak are not quite as unattainable as most people think, even on a budget. What's more, a good caterer will be able to throw in other types of food such as salads and starches, and often without increasing the budget at all. And of course, if you want hot dogs, they can be included as well!

Again, you might think it impossible to create this kind of meal, without losing quality, for that many people in a mostly undefined time frame. Again, however, it is important to realize that experienced catering companies are aware of the tricks and methods needed to ensure quality food of all types in any situation.
