When you are looking for long lasting sirens, you need to do your due diligence and invest in something that has the right features, instead of going by looks alone. A siren might be compact, have the right specs and also a great price tag, but might provide the performance that you are looking for. You need to pick the siren based on a whole range of factors and make sure they match with your sound requirements. For example, the requirements on your siren could be exceedingly demanding, when you operate them on ambulances and fire engines, which tend to be used a lot and that too in highly crowded areas. The siren system of your choice should be loud, clear and penetrative enough to get the attention of even those very far away from the emergency vehicle, so that it is effective.

You can invest in sirens designed as per SAE Class A specifications. There are quite a few features that make using the siren system very easy. You can pick and choose these features based on your requirement as well as the budget. For example, the number of siren tones available could vary from a couple to more than a dozen. ...
... Similarly, you can find a siren system which comes with a large number of additional features apart from just the siren tones.

One of the most important features present in high quality sirens is hands free operation mechanism which allows people to operate the siren mechanism in spite of being short of personnel. It is easy to select and play the desired siren tone in case of Scan Lock mechanism. But, even in that case there is a manual override push button which can be pressed to play a default tone that has been set for a specific cautionary signal. There are rotary switches provided in some siren systems which are extremely useful and help in changing the siren tones.

Good sirens provide volume and frequency control knobs in the front to allow the user to choose what the right decibel value and pitch should be in a given scenario. This versatility is important for siren systems which tend to be used a lot. Advanced siren systems even come with a noise cancelling microphone which tends to provide greater clarity to the tone. Some siren switch panels have as many as 7-position rotary switches providing several functions to promote ease of operation.

If you are looking for advanced sirens rich in features, you might come across systems which are well secured from issues like high voltage or short circuiting. Some systems have LED diagnosis indicators and reliable LED backlighting which helps in showing the status and condition of the siren. There are systems where the indicator tends to show if the speakers are short circuited or under current. There are also indicators to check what tone is playing, the frequency levels and the decibel levels. There are special Scan Lock switches as well which can help in syncing siren tones from several vehicles.
