Hair Extensions - All The Information You Need
Hair Extensions have become more and more popular in the last few years due to more celebrities admitting there using them and that's how they get their hair so long so quickly. You may be asking what are Hair Extensions - the answer is they are hair pieces which are attach to your scalp or your natural hair.
There are a variety of different types of hair extensions these include: human hair, animal hair and synthetic fibres. Human hair is the most expensive and also the one that looks the most natural. With human hair extensions you are able to get a better match with your natural hair but you can also colour them like you would do with your normal hair as well as washing it and styling it. Not only can the colour be matched but also the texture of your hair. There are 2 different formats of human extensions these are strands and wefts.
The strands format involves adding small sections of human hair to your natural hair. The wefts format is where large clumps of human hair attached to the top of your hair. There are also other ways to attach these hair extensions including weaving, braided, clamped, glued ...
... or fused. If you don't want the hair extensions all the time a good option is clip-on hair extensions.
Clip-on hair extensions are very popular with young adults, there easy to use, you can take them in and out as much as you want and there affordable. They not only offer you extra length but also extra volume if your hair is fine. The hair is attached to very small clips; these clips are then clipped into your own hair between sections. The hair can be straightened, curled, styled in any way you want just like your normal hair so why wait for your hair to grow when you can choose when you want long hair.
There are also different varieties of hair types, these include: Asia, Europe and the Artic. Hair from the Artic is considered the best as it hasn't been chemically treated, hair from the Artic is usually known as raw or virgin hair.
Whatever your type of hair extensions you need to look after them like you would your normal hair. If you use clip-on extensions you should take them out at night this will make sure they last longer. If you use human hair extensions, you will need to wash them like you do with your normal hair. As these extensions don't receive any oil from your scalp you will need to wash, condition and moisturise the hair 2-3 times a week.
If you do want hair extensions I would advise you to seek professional help and advice. They will be able to help you decide the colour and type as well as how you want your extensions to be attached. If you have a budget make sure you advise the stylist of this as there is a wide price bracket of different hair extensions and you don't want to have to pay for extensions you can't afford.
