‘Security’ happens to be the word that is ruling earth at present. There is security everywhere, be it airports, malls, shopping centers, hospitals, banks, schools, offices, apartments and other buildings . . . almost anything that we can perceive and live within or, around. There are so many ways in which security can be ensured, the most common among which is placing armed personnel at the entry and the exit. The main motive behind ensuring security is the fact that there has been far too many cases when miscreants have claimed the safety and lives of innocent citizens with their excesses, for the sake of solely selfish and self aggrandize interest and terrorism. With changing times, the level of threat to safety has become more severe and so have the methods of increasing safety and maintaining security. Security surveillance helps in keeping a close watch on the activities of people who are present in a certain location, be it inside a building and outside, and any kind of dubious behavior can be identified and acted upon before something goes wrong. Security cameras can be used as evidence in case some attack / wrong doing takes place, because, it can record the event as and when it happens and can be viewed later by whosoever needs to view it. Under most cases, the faces and other details of the miscreant gets recorded, which provides ample help to the police in locating the criminals and giving them their due.


While there are a great number of uses of Camera surveillance systems, one must remember that there are certain things that cannot be done, rather, should not be done with these systems. To begin with, security cameras come in various forms. They can be big and they can be small as well. People can avail them as per their requirements. However, the sole reason for purchase should be security concerns and not for the sake of prying on other people without the latter’s will. You may install security cameras in your home and outside, but by no means should such systems be aimed at encroaching upon the privacy of others. It should never be put in places that may affect the interest of others (like changing rooms, powder rooms etc). While it is true that the area in question may not always be under threat, one should never attempt tomfoolery with such cameras (like taping practical jokes). One should also be very responsible about the camera footages and use them carefully if needed.
