London is one of the world’s most diverse cities when it comes to food. You can literally find anything that tickles your tastebud’s fancy in the city, if you know where to look. Why not grab a great London deal from www.d3als.co.uk and follow my foodie guide to London town.

Here’s where to find London’s best…

Italian

Fabrizio, 30 St Cross Street, Farringdon

You may not find this tiny restaurant in your guidebook but it’s certainly my personal favourite and I love my Italian food. It’s friendly, very reasonably priced and the food is delicious. All of the pasta is home made and the creamy lemon sauce is heavenly.

Indian

Veeraswamy, Victory House, 99 Regent Street

Veeraswamy gets my vote for its stunning décor and extraordinary, authentic Indian food. Its central location means that it is on the pricy side for an Indian, but worth indulging in if you’ve grown bored of your local curry house.

Steak

The Steak Exchange, 2 Exchange Street

New kid on the block, The Steak Exchange is getting carnivores salivating over its well priced, naturally ...
... reared premium steaks. Have with the hand cut chips, of course, and don’t forget to leave room to sample the gorgeous desserts on the menu.

Fish Supper

The Fish Club, 189 St Johns Hill

This fabulous chippy proves that you don’t need to go to the seaside for great fish and chips. Fresh, ethically sourced fish is expertly battered and served up with the best chips in the city, fresh tartare sauce and lashings of salt and vinegar.

Chinese

Mr Kong’s, Chinatown

Of course, it would be a crime to head anywhere other than Chinatown for Chinese food in London, but it was a tough call to decide between the restaurants of this area. Mr Kong’s eventually got my vote for authenticity, good value and a tasty menu.

Sushi

Yashin, 1a Argyll Road

The chefs at this London sushi restaurant really know what they are doing, and will bring out the best in any sushi dish. Simply turn up and put yourself in their very capable hands for a sushi meal that is, quite simply, a revelation.

French

Bar Boulud, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, 66 Knightsbridge

French restaurants can be horribly stuffy, but Bar Boulud is the exception to the rule. Children and, shock horror, jeans, are welcome at the Frenchie in the basement of the divine Mandarin Oriental. And the menu even includes that basic French classic, crogue monsier.

Considering its location, in a swanky Knightsbridge hotel, you’d expect eye-watering prices to accompany such a mouth watering menu, but Bar Boulud keeps its prices very reasonable indeed. Don’t miss this one.

Tapas

Salt Yard, Goodge Street

This eatery on London’s Goodge Street offers divine, authentic Iberian and Italian tapas at more than fair prices. A fabulous place to enjoy with friends, the patatas bravas will change your expectations of the dish forevermore.

Café

S&M Café, Islington and Spitalfields

This bold, brash traditional café with a twist offers all your home cooked favourites such as big, all-day breakfasts, sausage and mash, and toad in the hole. There’s ketchup on the tables but your feet won’t stick to the floor – this place is posher than it likes to let on.

Cakes

Konditor and Cook, multiple locations

This ‘chain’ bakery (for want of a better word) in the city truly produces the most scrumptious cakes you’ve ever tasted.
My personal favourite is the divine, chocolate sponge curly wurly cake, but the vibrant and varied ‘magic cakes’ make a great gift.

They also do fantastic savoury lunches too. Check out the website to find your nearest.

Cookie

Bougie Macaron and Tea, 3 Russell St

This tiny little tea room in Covent Garden produces divine macarons to give the French Laduree classics a good run for their money. Colourful, flavourful and packed with delicious filling, there’s no resisting getting a box or bag of these little beauties to take away.
