There is plenty of variety and versatility available as far as emergency lighting is concerned. This is why it is important to look at 5 basic aspects before one picks up the right kind of emergency lighting whenever required. Some of these aspects are often ignored which is another reason it is important to choose wisely amongst innumerable options. An important aspect for example would be the flexibility you have with your lighting. It is important to question whether you will be able to use the lighting both inside as well as in the exteriors. You should be able to rely on your emergency lights even in the harshest of weather conditions.

An important aspect of emergency lighting is the energy consumption. It is important to choose lights which provide high luminosity but at lower wattage. This is why LED lights are most frequently used as you can get satisfactory luminescence even with 5W and 10W lights, something which might not be possible in other contemporary options like CFL or halogen lighting. This will also allow you to use the lights for longer hours during emergencies without the need ...
... for backup energy supply. In fact, LED light bars can be powered by a simple 12V DC power supply which also adds to their portability.

While choosing emergency lighting it is important to pay attention to the construction and design of the LED lights. Die cast and extruded aluminum or black polycarbonate is used very commonly for casing and encapsulation. This offers plenty of benefits. Firstly, it ensures that the lighting is well secured from consistent vibration and high impact. Also, it provides moisture, corrosion and dust resistance to the lighting. UV resistant domes are used in some cases as well for additional resiliency.

emergency lighting should be easily operable. At the time of emergencies it is important that the emergency lights allow you to switch flash patterns, turn on or turn off various LED modules or switch on the lights with ease. User selectable flash patterns can be used at will in advanced light bars during emergencies. In fact, some of them have non volatile memory to store information about the last used flash patterns. Simple cigar plug adapters, slider or rotator switches are also provided for turning the lights on or off or for altering the flash patterns.

When it comes to emergency lighting especially for vehicles, reliable mounting is an important aspect. This is why professional manufacturers supply several mounting options to ensure that you have versatility and flexibility in mounting the lights on the front of the vehicle, on the roof or in the rear. Swivel brackets and 3 suction cups are commonly used for mounting the emergency light bars. Stainless steel mounting straps are also provided in some cases for secured mounting. For mini light bars and visor lights, Velcro straps and mounting clips are used while for beacons powerful magnets with reliable pull are used to ensure that the emergency lights are mounted with ease.
