New race designed for Asians
Chinese players account for a large part of blizzard players. Because of language difference, blizzard can not know Chinese players directly. That does not mean they are unaware of their needs. The success of Kung Fu Panda is able to prove Chinese like pandas—their national treasure. At the beginning, designers design pandas with Japanese costume. They corrected mistake until Chinese players protest. China is populated and its players are increasing at an alarming rate. As blizzard extends its fame to mainland, they will get large profit. Take the Diablo 3 for example. The cash AH earns considerable profit in Chinese market. Blizzard intends to sell more games such as Titan, Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2. Chinese style xpan stimulates players who AFK because of CTM and promotes Chinese culture as well. It is easy to be approved in Chinese markets.
New class breaking the balance
In xpan TBC blizzard balances well among 9 classes and 27 talents. Unpopular classes are given powerful talents. As xpan updates, class attributes increase and the dmg is increased accordingly. As a result, ...
... average blood of PVP has to be increased. Skill dmg of monsters in PVE should be increased to threaten others; healing skill of healers should be increased which will influence the balance of PVP. Finally, game attributes will be increased horribly and it makes game balance impossible. Blizzard does not well in balancing 10 classes in WLK and CTM. Now there is one more class adding, how blizzard can make it since there are 11 classes.
Design of monk reaching to a bottleneck
Xpan of wow has not made many creations in these years. Healing, tanking, output keeps same. Wow did not change much. Look at the skill recurrence pattern. Is monk’s talent creative? No, it is reproduction of DK as long as cool time and combo point are added. How does blizzard make new xpan interesting and attractive? Just make the game complex by extending players’ playing time?
Granting monks skills becoming uneasy
Giving monks existed talents is hard. Blizzard should consider giving monk some common skills and unusual skills. New skill is supposed to be added since monk is a new class. Also, the class can not be granted too powerful skills for it is against the balancing rules. After the launch of new xpan, many players must be attracted by this new class.
If blizzard gets rid of balancing rule, they would develop more interesting games.
