If a car moves on uneven road it experiences shocks and jerks. Coil springs and shock absorbers are the suspension devices that minimize the effect of these shocks. In a ‘coil over’ the two are kept in one unit, the coil spring encircling the shock absorber. The combination provides both, the spring action and the damping action. Instead of using a long coil spring mostly two or some times more than two shorter springs are used for some technical reasons. These springs are stacked one on top of the other. In the beginning coil springs were used only by racing teams but now they are used in other cars as well and are quite popular. Though it is not difficult to install them, it has to be seen that they are correctly installed.

The gases resulting from the combustion in an automobile engine have to be expelled as they have no use. Some of these gases are highly toxic and if they are released untreated in the atmosphere they can cause great harm. So they first pass through a catalytic converter where some of them are neutralized so they do not remain so harmful. From the converter the gases enter the cat back exhaust ...
... system. The escaping gases exert some back pressure which is not good for the combustion process. The cat back exhaust system provides an easy passage to these gases and reduces the back pressure. This is achieved mainly by using large diameter pipes and by proper designing of the passage. The gases then pass through the muffler to reduce the noise. The engine functions more efficiently and you can derive more power from the engine for the same quantity of fuel. By using cat back exhaust system you can economize on fuel consumption.
