Akshardham temple is famous for its beauty, bliss and wisdom. Akshardham means the boundless, all powerful abode of the absolute Lord, the abode of abiding values and virtues of Akshar as ascertain in the Vedas and Upanishads where beautiful bhakti, purity and conciliation forever charges. This lovely and beautiful temple was built in only 5 years of the construction through the blessing of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Akshardham was established in the year 1992, it is one of the largest temples of Gujarat. The floor area of the temple is 10, 04,349 sq.ft.

The Hari Mandapam which is the idol in the temple is of 7 ft and totally gold leafed. This temple was built in the dedication of lord Swaminarayan. The temple is made by the lovely pink stones. It is the most admirable creation of the modern India. Akshardham temple has attracted the millions of the visitors from across the world. This temple itself has the so many pipelines of attractions, the gardens, fountain, the exhibition, fun point and many more.

The best thing in the temple is the exhibition. The exhibition is of 2 to 2.5 hours, there are three parts of the
xhibition:

The part 1 is displaying the life of lord Swaminarayan. It is characterized through the different shows and the imaginative settings. This is also including the ‘travel in time’ through the video. The fiber optics gallery, the baby recreation of lord Swaminarayan’s village ‘Chhapiya’!!!

The part 2 is Sat Chit Anand. Here is the IMAX movie the large format film named Mystic India. This is the movie related to the life of Nilkanth it is the unpredictable movie, the journey of a child through the heart of India. This place was once amazing in 14 screens multimedia presentations. Apart from the demonstration, the exhibition also once included a 'Tunnel of Mirrors,' a mirror checker and lovely dancing musical fountains.

The part 3 is walking through compass and the spun glass figures displaying the message of Ramayana, Upanishad and Mahabharata. This exhibition also includes the audio animatronics show, the recreation of Hastinapur palace from Mahabharata, also the recreation of the charming Gurukul bundled in the lap of beautiful nature, lovely compositions of the saint’s poets and an construction on 'Harmony of world religions'. And the most lovely, adorable thing not to be missed is the newest musical fountain.

A 45-minute water show characterizes the story of Nachiketa from the Kathopanishad. This show is the longest of its all heart, attributes the use of 4,000 cocks, 2,000 lights, over 100 pumps and 12 fireball throwers. The food court which is very famous in Gandhinagar named Premvati food court. Generally people are very fond of the special swaminarayan khichadi.
