A Pulled Calf Muscle Is A Huge Inconvenience Without A Doubt
"A pulled calf muscle is defined as a partial tear to at least one of the fibers in your calf muscle; it is never a pleasant thing to experience. There are two groups of muscles that make up your calf, which are referred to as the gastrocnemius or soleus.
These muscles are located in the back of the bottom part of your leg and they stretch from your knee to your Achilles tendon. You will feel the pain from a pulled calf muscle every time your heel is raised, so every step will be awkward and disheartening. It is difficult not to notice this type of injury because it is difficult to even stand up when you are plagued by it; walking or running becomes almost intolerable.
Anytime you are in motion or turning your calf one way and it is forced into the opposite direction by something else, a pulled calf muscle can result. There are so many different ways to strain your calf that it would be impossible to list every one on a single sheet of foolscap. You can probably think of a handful of causes that could possibly happen before you even walk out of the door to work in the morning.
If you have children ...
... there are probably plenty of things kicking around on the floor, and accidentally stepping on any of them could be quite damaging to your calves. Walking down a set of stairs in your home carries with it even more risk; especially if you are in a hurry or attempt to tackle them a couple at a time. In some cases, folks have suffered serious calf injuries from merely cramming their feet into their shoes because they did not take the time to untie them.
If you partake in sports activities you have even more reasons to look into pulled calf muscle treatment. Soccer cleats have a tendency to dig deep into the ground (or get caught on artificial turf) and before you know it you could be rolling around in distress. If you are ever riding a bicycle and get your foot snagged inside of a strap, it could do more harm than you think if you need to get it out and cannot.
Your pulled calf treatment will depend on whether you have a mild or a severe injury; the person who ultimately makes this distinction should be a qualified physician. By stretching your muscles every day and taking steps to make them stronger, you may be able to avoid experiencing these issues; you will gain from this in many other ways as well, so there is no good reason to refrain."
