You must have heard the word "Unclaimed Property" many times. What does it exactly mean? Do you know how it is you owed "Unclaimed property"? This article will let you know how you will be able to find and claim your lost funds.
The term "Unclaimed Property" comes when-
Property is discarded by the owner.
The owner is completely out of contact with the institution or company holding the property
Or

An unclaimed asset can be easily placed by conducting an unclaimed funds search in database. To search the information you will have to enter information such as, your name in the search box and then click search.
There are few options of database by using which you can conduct your search, they are as follows:
A Single database:
This is state sponsored database and it only searches money from one state and it is may happen that unclaimed cash reported in a state other than your current state of residence.
A "Multiple state database"
This is a state sponsored database with some states. Except that there is no government sponsorship from government site that has many from all 50 states and cannot be mention on federal databases.
An "All-in -one" database
This is good option for conducting an unclaimed funds search. This database has money from all 50 states and federal databases. More often it will offer free search to make you sure you own money before accessing the database.
The sites suggest better searching capabilities where they search variety of your name. Most often unclaimed cash accounts are reported under some sort of variation of your common legal name, like initial and last name or nick name, etc.
These sites also make available claim forms, you need to claim found money and instructions to submitting you claim.
The search will identify accounts reported as owed to an unclaimed property owner with your name. You can then see if the accounts are yours by searching:
1. When the account you remember having the institution or company that turned money over.
2. When the address on the account is a past or present address of yours.
3. When information reported on account matches your original information.
Once you have identified the unclaimed property accounts owed to you, you will have to print a claim for submit it with the require proof of identification. Proof of identification includes:
Copies of driving license
State issued ID card
Birth certificate.
