Attractive Modular Displays
Last week, we took a brief look at Candy Adams article, “Top Ten Tips for Successful Exhibiting”, focusing on methods available to accomplish Tip (5): Determine which products or services you will showcase and how you will display/demonstrate them. Various Modular Displays and accessories available at ExhibitTrader.com were discussed; giving an overview of the many options clients use to display product. Tip (5) is on the agenda today: Producing an attractive, uncluttered exhibit that invites visitors to enter. The Booth Mom’s advice:
1) Use color, light and movement to attract attendees to your exhibit.
2) Keep your exhibit open and inviting. Don’t block more than 20% of the aisle with barriers such as tables
walls or counters.
3) Don’t stuff your exhibit with excess staff. The industry rule-of-thumb for staffing your exhibit is one staff
person for every 50 square feet of open space in your booth.
4) Highlight your hottest products with light
5) Design your graphics to be easily readable ...
... with prospect-focused benefits in an easily readable, large font.
*(Ms Adam’s full article addresses each tip in detail and may be found on her website)*
Simple enough; but easier said than done, depending on how many times you have been around the block-and back again-getting a trade show exhibit ready for your company. Lighting is an important aspect of any trade show display. The economical options available, for attaching lighting to your Modular Displays, means you should never be in the dark on the show floor. Halogens available in various wattages; long- life LED in various color options; and incandescent/fluorescent bulbs normally used for back-lighting graphics, are the types of “light” available. Color options abound in modular trade show exhibits- with panel displays available in either color fabric or full-graphic panels.
Modular exhibits are-in large part-very sleek and streamlined in design with most of the “noise” concentrated on the back wall. Many incorporate shelving, monitor hardware and work stations into the frame-meaning less clutter. Counters, tables, banner stands, kiosks and other additional components can be arranged to the best advantage point(s), for smooth flow of traffic thru your trade show booth.
Point (3) might present more of a problem for shows that are in the Caribbean in the winter, rather than Vegas in the summer. The Booth Mom can help you with staff training as well. Industry guru, dynamic speaker, humorous trainer and writer, Candy Adams, CTSM, CME, CEM, CMM, CMP, provides strategic and tactical exhibit project management. A really neat way to highlight your hottest products or message is by using lightboxes. Light- boxes turn ordinary signage in to eye catching, back-lit displays! Not only great for trade shows; lightboxes can be used in lobbies, air ports, show rooms, malls and entry ways. A wide variety of wall mounted and floor standing lightbox displays, with options such as double sided or rotating, are available. Use our quick navigation bar on our home page, www.exhibittrader2.com and take a look at how impactful lightboxes can be.
Being so instrumental in the success of marketing/exhibiting efforts, volumes could be written on the subject of graphics. We will be short and to the point, but expound on Tip (5) next time.
