No body can clearly remember the exact time when custom clothing became a bomb in the society but it is quite clear that it is a practice that has been with the human kind for quite some time. Perhaps the roots of the culture can be as old as the use of clothing because it should be noted that at the beginning of the culture of wearing clothes, every one made their own clothes and this must have been custom made to the choice of the wearer.

For a long time after the discovery of clothing to human kind, it must have become almost a source of identity for people to wear certain kinds of clothing for specific occasions and ceremonies. The royal families for example were always expected to wear in a certain manner that can make them stand out from the rest of the community members.

If the choice of clothing by the royalties was not custom clothing, then it might be difficult to tell exactly what custom clothing was at that early time and how it all started. One of the main reasons why people in different parts of the world used different kinds of custom clothing is due to the fact that the custom clothing was always made out of the readily available raw materials. This actually meant that custom clothing used in a certain area would be influenced by the kind of clothing materials that could easily be found in the areas.

Over the years however as the world trading trends began to develop and industrialization began to take effect it became relatively easy to find materials form other places of the world being ferried to other locations where they were not originally available. At this point, it became easy to point out classy custom clothing since you could easily look at the materials used to tell how expensive the custom clothing can be.

The fact that custom clothing became a trade mark of social class cannot be disputed. Many people simply used the custom clothing to try and show off their standing in society by wearing clothing that locally were not very easily available. It became the show of might and class in society with the mighty people being separated from the rest by the way they dress.

The important thing is that to date people still wear custom clothing in an effort to show class and standing in society while others also use the custom clothing for a number of other reasons such as to depict a special occasion. It is common to see family members in a funeral procession spotting a particular kind of attire that makes them show their solidarity in times like that. Weddings and graduation ceremonies are other occasions where custom clothing is also used and the practice has remained rather widespread.
