Elements And Yantras
Yantras are tools which are generally used by individuals for concentrating and carrying out meditation. These visual instruments find there use in many ways. They can either be kept in homes, in temples or even worn by individuals. Mainly used for combating with the evil effects of planets, the Yantras are used only after they are properly purified and energized. Geometrical patterns made up of concentric figures like circles, squares, triangles, etc constitute the Yantras. Yantras have lines and points in the geometric designs, the points are known as Bindus and the lines represent the five different elements of the world. As we all know the world is composed of five different elements, viz Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Sky and these particular elements are represented by the lines of the Yantras.
Earth, Water and Fire are specially presented by these lines. The rectangular Yantras represent the Earth whereas the Yantras which are round in shape represent the element of Water. The Fire element is represented by the Yantras which are triangular ...
... in shape. 5 or more than 5 sides Yantras are also used. There are two types of triangular Yantras; one is the Shiva Yantra whose lines are raised and the other is the Bhagwati Yantras whose lines are carved.
