Many people, even those who are recipients of them, wonder why a company would spend money on promo USB drives only to give them away. In some cases, the people receiving such gifts are not even customers of the company, and they are unable to fathom just how the company could receive a benefit in return for such gifts that would repay the cost of ordering them. The truth, however, is that USB promotional drives can be a valid part of a company’s advertising campaign when used right.
The first thing to remember is that USB drives are most certainly not the right giveaways for all occasions. There are rather specific circumstances under which the potential return from giving away such expensive gifts is high enough to justify it. Of course, this does not mean that USB drives should replace all other forms of corporate gift. In fact, there are times when other less expensive gifts will be appropriate. If you are able to make proper use of USB drives as corporate gifts, however, you will have a form of advertising that is always in sight of potential customers as they use the USB drives you have given them. This makes them potentially longer-running than the longest running television commercials that money can buy.
You have to be extremely careful when it comes to quality, however, because by putting your company logo and information on a USB drive, you are implicitly endorsing the drive itself. If the drive works well, then the user will constantly be thinking of your company in a positive light. If the drive fails to work, or worse, causes the user to lose some valuable digital information that he had stored on it, however, then he or she will most definitely strongly associate your company with negative feelings.
Promo USB drives can therefore be effective tools only when used in the right situations, and it is up to you to determine what those situations are, according to your needs and the type of clientele that your business targets. You should definitely keep USB promotional drives in mind, however, and not discount them straight away as being too expensive or extravagant.
