Strategy one: set your mind to learn the language. For example, you have choosen Spanish as the one you should learn, you need to have the determination to learn it. That's the will power! Also I should alarm you that even though you think some way is good enough for you to learn to speak this language, you shall not depent on it when you are in trouble and cannot get out with its assistance. Strategy three: speak and write. What do you want to get when you decide to learn this language? Probably you want to speak this language and communicate in it with others well. So, speak! My experience tells me if you use the things you have just learned often, you will be able to understand the things wholly and remember them more easily. It is the same as you learn one language.
