The music and lyrics are of course by Mel Brooks, with the orchestration given by Doug Besterman. Brook has also been able to get the rights from the Irving Berlin estate, for the memorable track, "Puttin' on the Ritz," performed by the monster in the story! The track obviously remains the centerpiece of the Young Frankenstein Musical.

This show got some rave reviews when it opened for a tryout production in Seattle, in August. The audience simply loved it, as was evident by their standing ovations!
