The Ins And Outs Of Choosing An Abdominal Exercise Machine
My sister used to have fantastic abs because she was particular about what she ate, restricted her intake of fat and did numerous ab crunches daily and, though it was extremely hard work, it was well worth the effort. Everything changed however following the birth of her first child when she rapidly went very soft around the middle, had very noticeable love handles, and was not able to seem to rid herself of the flab no matter how many different diets she went on.
This would have been bad enough, however she also found that she was not able to do crunches anymore because she had severe back pain. Nonetheless, she was not ready to live with being out of shape and so she resolved to check out a few abdominal exercise machines.
Abdominal exercise machines are designed specifically to home in on the abs during exercise and most machines simulate regular crunch exercises although they are far easier on the body. For instance, the majority of people do crunch exercises while lying on the floor with their hands behind their head putting them at risk for back and neck injuries. ... machines because they restrict your movement and force you to maintain good form in order to operate the machine. This means that these exercise machines are more or less foolproof and permit the rest of your body a break while you are concentrating on your abs.
My sister had seen a lot of late-night infomercials for exercise machines but was not prepared to rush out and buy one solely on the basis of what she had heard on television. She had no desire to hear what actors and professional bodybuilders were being paid to tell her but wished to hear what real individuals had to say about these machines based upon their own personal experience.
So she looked online and found a lot of third-party consumer reviews for many of the best known abdominal exercise machines. She wanted to know which of the machines were well-constructed, simple to use, and actually worked on sculpting your abs and which machines would just be a waste of money and time. She also wished to find websites where she could buy the more popular abdominal exercise machines at reasonable prices because these machines are not cheap and any discount which she might be able to find would be a help.
One comment she made to me was that she was very pleased to have read the online reviews as one of the machines which she had been thinking about buying was not at all well received by those who reviewed it. It seems that this particular machine has a couple of substantial problems which she would not have found in advance of purchasing it. As a result she purchased a machine which was quite a way down her list of possibilities but which had nevertheless had very positive reviews.
The good news is that with her machine she can work on her abs several times each week without the back pain which she had previously without it. Most importantly, she is now beginning to witness a reduction in her waist and should soon be happily back in shape again and feeling very much like her old self.
