After market products industry has become a sizeable industry as car owners almost invariably go for aftermarket products after acquiring a car. The use and functions of aftermarket products like headlights, tail lights, car mirrors are commonly known. But there are some aftermarket products whose functions are not well known. Strut bar is one of the aftermarket products belonging to this category. Strut bar is a suspension system accessory. It is not easy to explain the function of a strut bar but it is sufficient to say that it stiffens the suspension and improves the handling of a car. The vertical suspension load of a vehicle is transmitted to a strut tower. Strut tower is a reinforced portion of the inner wheel well of a car. Strut bar is a suspension accessory that ties the two strut towers. During cornering there is a flex - a sort of bending force- within the two strut towers relative to the chassis rails. The strut bar reduces this flex. For effective functioning the bar has to be rigid.

Another aftermarket product that is a component of a suspension system is a coil over. At one time they were mainly used in ...
... racing teams but now they are used in ordinary cars. To dampen the shocks in a car coil springs or shock absorbers are used. A coil over combines coil spring and shock absorber in one unit. One end of the spring is mounted to the axle or suspension and the other is mounted on the chassis. For technical reasons instead of using a long spring multiple springs are stacked one over the other. It is possible to adjust the ride height and suspension height with the coil overs. It is essential that the coil over is properly mounted, if you want a smooth ride.

If you want to avoid the trouble of visiting automobile stores looking for strut bars and coil springs, and save time you can look for them on internet. There are three different categories of coilovers, and there is choice in strut bars as well. You can get all the required information about them on websites.
