"There is no doubt that there is a huge majority of people that suffer from stress and are unsure of how to handle it. Stress is something that can be instigated by things that are out of their control which include peer pressure to act particular ways or unrealistic expectations. Feeling pressured into meeting due dates that we cannot meet is one such addition to stress. No doubt this can be a challenge. Even so, there are those that have the most admirable quality of being able to cope beautifully in challenging situations. Coming into stressful situations repeatedly, is something they can overcome with ease.

Have they figured out something that many of us haven't? Some scenarios that include high amounts of stress end-up seemingly breezy for stress-free individuals, which can be used as a way for those who may not handle it so well as a means of hope.

Going through the feelings of stress can be subconscious and might sometimes be handled after-the-fact instead of right in the heat of stress when it can weight on us the most. We always seem to feel pressured into making immediate decisions in these ...
... stress-related situation, which tend to be the wrong decisions because they were not properly thought out. Is there something we can do to patiently scrutinize the decisions we are making so that we feel good about them?

Something very associated to these situations was found when I was researching different ways to solve my own stress problem. Recently, New York was presented with a visit from the Dalai Lama, which stemmed from an organization that Sara Bronfman is a part of called the World Ethical Foundation. "Compassionate ethics in difficult times" is the subject of this particular meeting. What do compassion and ethics have to do with coping in difficult times?

Well, when I began to think about it, the relation I found between compassion, ethics, and difficult times, is that when you put the three together, you are more likely to make good decisions. What is it about this idea that makes me draw this conclusion? Well, compassion is critical in decision-making because we commonly endeavor to be considerate of others, so we're not running over others as we endeavor to get from point A to point B. Good decisions are made because of good ethical backgrounds, which can impact the way we live with stress. By considering the best possible solution to a problem that is affecting you, you are using your good ethics and judgments to come to this overall conclusion. Take compassion and ethics, and apply them in the midst of a stressful time, and it seems to me we are more likely to make more solid decisions. In fact, if we are grounded in compassion and ethics, it's possible that stressful situations can take on somewhat of a more effortless quality, time and time again."
Additional details and concerns are expressed on Sara Bronfman experience. More information is also available at Sara Bronfman.
