“Subscribe to this RSS feed” – We often come across this phrase on many websites. However, the other day, when one of my colleagues asked me what RSS feeds is all about, I managed to tell her with some ambiguity that it is a tool to stay informed about your preferred online news, weather, books and other products and services of interest. Not quite satisfied with my reply, I was keen on doing some more research on the subject. And while doing so, I found that RSS is an amazing technology that can take the web owner’s business to the next level!
Let me share with you my thoughts on RSS feeds.
For those who are not acquainted to RSS feed, let me inform you that the three letter acronym for “Really Simple Syndication” is a syndicated news feed in an XML set-up. To put it simply, it allows you to read different websites and blogs through your feed reader upon subscription. You can subscribe through an “information aggregator”.
