Encountering enemies
At the beginning of Diablo 1 and 2, it is easy to kill monsters. Diablo 3 is different. Some monsters are foolish enough to wait for attack. But some are very clever. They use Dark Avatar. The enchanted pagans will not move when players are nearing. They just knock their staff. In fact the pagans are controlled by demons. In emergent cases, demons will split the dark avatar and fight in the battle. The only way to stop dark avatar from summoning demons is kill them. There are some interesting enemies such as ghouls. As you encounter new enemies in new scenes, players have to change strategies. In Diablo series, different monsters have different skills. Each monster has many skills. Designers make monsters’ condition up for their abilities. It is a good way to challenge players. For example, skeleton shield can parry attack of monsters after him. The taskmaster in Diablo 2 gives monsters medigel, de-buff, and explode monsters. Desert bees in Diablo 3 have a little blood; they appear in large groups. They emit poison sting to cause damage for players. If players want to kill the bees, spinning ascetic monks will appear in front of you. Players may want to wait for attack of these monks, but to find yourself surrounded by Tomb Viper. Players are surrounded by monsters. Poison sting is emitted to attack players. In Diablo 3 you will encounter this kind of situation, and you have to survive.
Death threats
To bring more interesting contact battle to players, three random systems are included in Diablo series. Diablo 1 has the first system, namely enemies’ random system. Each time players play a new game, types of enemies, players’ place and the map itself will generate randomly. Enemies in maps are not that random. Diablo 3 will keep this characteristic, such as tasks, special events, and maprect. Enemies are not random. The second system is similar to the third one. This system appears first in Diablo 2. Special monsters system will be produced. Special monsters appear in groups. Each monster in a group of special monsters will use one of the five special monsters. The affix of special monsters decides the attribute and the difference between blood and common monsters. The third system is gold monster system. Gold monster generates singly. Each gold monster has several monster followers. They have random attribute. Sometimes, this effect can influence the monsters around, such as ring of light. The generated gold monsters have 13 different abilities, such as extra fast, teleport, lightning enchanted. Some non-random generated gold monsters is more aggressive than common gold monsters. Sometimes these gold monsters will appear in tasks. They are super special monsters, such as blood raven.
