Third Brake Light - For A Higher Level Of Safety
The usefulness of a piece of equipment lies in part in how it is designed. It then also lies in how well it is manufactured and one may feel a well designed and manufactured product is sure to be useful. But we would be wrong. A big aspect to the usefulness of a product is how easily it can be deployed to serve the purpose it was designed for. Now of course driving a car is not like being on an ambitious expedition where deploying equipment could be an issue. And yet quite easily some components of your car may not get deployed when they are needed.
Take for example your car's tail lights. They are well designed bright and beautiful lights that shine brightly at night and make your drive safe. If you hit the brakes they shine even more brightly and the driver of the car following yours will know that the brakes have been applied and he or she too must slow down the car. But it can happen that the tail lights do not get deployed because they are too low to be visible. The car may still be visible but that the brakes ...
... are being pressed may not get conveyed. Now this does not happen often but it can happen and happen often enough for it to be a serious risk. At such a time you need a third brake light which is mounted higher and will still be visible.
Third brake a light are a low cost and simple way to make your driving at night safer. They are so useful that in may parts of the world they are mandatory. They can be easily mounted on the car and once that is done every time you hit the brakes the driver of the car following yours will know immediately. They shine only when the brakes are pressed. This is unlike the tail lights which shine brighter at night when the brakes are pressed. So there is less ambiguity in the message conveyed by the third brake lights.
