Unemployment is one such chronic diseases of Indian economy, which has hollowed down the entire system and still continues with it. The ever growing needs of industries in regard to skilled workers and out dated education pattern have made the picture go worst. Vocation educational education adopted by many b schools in india is the only way out.
The country India, which consists of billion plus people is suffering from a peculiar and chronic problem for a long time now. We are talking about the problem of unemployment, which has muddled our society for more than four decades now. Billion numbers of students, who are passing out from every corner of the country are finding themselves landing the sludge of unemployment.
There are so many factors that have contributed to this present situation and have made it even more worst. The very first point that needs to be highlighted is that industry is in need of skilled workers and employees. Today, no one in the corporate world wants to impart any sought of industrial training to its employee as they expect a well groomed and trained professional. This unrealistic demand of multinational corporations has made it very difficult for average students to cope up with the changing environment.
Secondly and would say largely, the education system in the country has failed to meet up with the expectations of the present competitive times. Our educational bodies are not able to produce that product that can be sold neither in domestic nor international corporate market. The education, which is offered to students, is confined within the four walls of classroom learning. They are either never or very less exposed to practical learning, which limits their knowledge and skills and thus make them incompetent to make a stand with the expectations. Further, the course curriculum and content is out dated and thus does not serve the purpose. Students are not even updated with the new developments related to their respective education and thus remain in the darkness of ignorance. This way, they always stay in that darkness and never are able to come out of it. The very new concept of specialized education is not introduced yet in many parts of the country. That lays another draw back in the current education pattern.
This continues to stay forever, until we find solution for it. The solution to it lies in popularizing vocational education and training in educational institutes. Also, we need to put stress on the need to increase the percentage of students opting for vocational training to help skill-deficit corporations and industries. Vocational education prepares students for jobs, which are based on mostly practical activities and thus is a traditionally non-academic, and totally job-oriented education. There are a lot of management colleges in india, which have made their way towards such type of education, which has actually helped in enhancing the employability of students lately.
