Glowsticks have been closely associated with clubbing for over twenty five years now, this is thanks in part to the start of the rave culture that swept across Britain through the late 80’s right through to the present day. The dance and rave culture really started to take of in the 80’s this was helped by clubs like the hacienda in Manchester, this club was archetypal to the creation of the dance culture in Manchester and the north west in general, this also spilled into other towns and cities up and down the UK and so to did all of the glowsticks. The above names but a few of the types of music that were founded in the 90’s all stem from different branches and lead from one to another, all have the same influences with the uses of glowsticks at their raves.
