Tire pyrolysis is the process of taking tires, either whole or pre-shredded, and then melting them down through the application of high heat in a low oxygen environment in order to ensure that the tires don't catch fire. Pyrolysis is notable as a recycling method in that it has nearly no waste emissions during the process. It has a nearly one hundred percent reclamation process for all the resulting waste gasses, liquids, or solids. Just about all the minerals used in the original tires are reclaimable, and even the remaining solid waste product, known as 'char', can be treated and eventually reused as a carbon black product every bit as useful as the original virgin carbon black originally used in tire manufacturing.
