It Giants Expand Efforts In Developing Security Infrastructure For Cloud Computing And Mobile Usage
The markets for malware are expanding at a rapid pace, says digital forensic training expert EC-Council. As such, major security plans to address privacy concerns are being green-lit across various platforms for mobile devices and cloud computing.
Albuquerque, NM September 21, 2011 – Technology companies are ramping up their efforts to curb malware and other undesirable software, in an effort to keep hackers from affecting profits from the lucrative mobile market. This shows the emphasis being placed on mobile forensics as a solution, and how knowledge of mobile operating systems can help both companies and end-users prevent unnecessary data interference, says Jay Bavisi, the President of EC-Council.
He points to the recent example of Hewlett-Packard combining its security products and technology from recent acquisitions to unveil an expanded Enterprise Security Solutions portfolio, designed to help businesses deal with persistent security threats from cloud applications and social media.
This is why basic digital forensic training is so important, Bavisi says. Mobile data usage on smartphones has never ...
... beenas prevalent as it is today. The constant stream of data on-the-go, combined with the prevalence of convenient cloud computing, have only served to compound this lack of direct control over one's personal or corporate data.
Even computer peripherals manufacturer Kensington is pitching in with hardware-related security, coming up with a range of security cases that monitor the distance between a user and his smartphone.
It seems consumers need to be more vigilant about safeguarding the data on their mobile phones, as Symantec's latest Internet Security Threat Report found that researchers identified nearly four times as many unique-to-Android pieces of malware than the previous year.
The sharp rise in malware reflects the popularity of these mobile devices, resulting in a need for consumers to educate themselves on the limitations of the devices they use on a daily basis.
Digital forensic training offered by EC-Council includes their Digital Mobile Forensics Deep Dive, a three-day technical course which provides students with both theoretical knowledge and real world hands-on practical skills in mobile forensics training.
