Why Should You Help Out the Translation Agency?

A lot of businesses operating in multiple countries in the Europe or elsewhere need to do English to Dutch translation for a lot of documents. Translation is a tricky business and even though a document means something it can be interpreted in different ways. So, a document must be translated while keeping the tone of the original one intact. A lack of communication between the translators and the company often leads to this cultural edge being lost. This leads to even excellently translated documents seeming to mean something else and to be a poor translation in general. This is bad for both the translation agency and the hiring company. There are a few ways to ensure such a thing does not happen and they are listed below.

Choose the Appropriate Agency

Choose an agency which preferably specializes in the translation you need (e.g. English to Dutch translation). Such agencies have the benefit that most of their team will naturally be natives of one of the language and will probably have excellent command over both. In case of huge agencies you need to conduct ...
... some research into the translation team to be assigned to the job. Find out their credentials, experience and contact their past clients if possible for better feedback. Ask the agency to send some examples of past work and check to see if they suit your requirements and are indeed good translations.

Help Out with References

You should provide the appropriate references of the format you expect the work to be in. Past samples of satisfactory work if any can also go a long way in helping out. These things will surely save a lot of confusion to both parties. Also, be open to the agency if they suggest that a better form of translation would be better for you.

Deadlines

Deadlines should be enforced without exception and the agency which respects that should be chosen. The agency should be asked to provide regular updates of their work so that if they are falling behind you will get to know immediately and take the appropriate measures before the situation blows up. The agency should be asked to compensate if they fail to keep up with pre-agreed deadlines.

English to Dutch translation is a laborious and time-consuming job and taking care of the above points will help reduce the load of the translation agency.
