Lips are one of the most sensuous and appealing feature of our face. And if they are dry or chapped, they definitely become a subject for concern. Especially, during winters your lips tend to become very dry and cracked. Make sure that whenever you have dry lips; never lick them as this can worsen the condition of your lips. Moreover, avoid breathing with your mouth open. As this can dehydrate your lips easily and can cause them to be more chapped and dry.
Steer clear of lip makeup products like lipstick, lip gloss, moisturizers and lip balms of cheap quality as they can a severe irritation for your lips.
Following are some amazing natural tips and tricks to heal your red, scaly, chapped, cracked, sore, painful or dry lips and make it look more supple and softer.
1. Remember that whatever you apply on lips is automatically going inside your mouth. Let it be a lipstick, lip gloss, moisturizers, or lip balm you are eating it throughout the day. So minimize applying them as much as possible and apply them when the occasion really calls for grooming of your lips
2. Avoid applying Vaseline as it is petroleum-based ...
... and petroleum is crude oil which not at all desirable for your health. Over application of Vaseline on your lips can cause zits or breakouts as well. This can also lead t circumstances where your lips are prone to fungus and bacterial growth.
3. Make sure to drink to a lot of water throughout the day. Get in habit of drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Proper intake of water keeps your lips hydrated all the time. Indulge in habit of eating lots of fruits and vegetables as this can increase the content of moisture for your lips.
4. Avoid using any lip balms which contains chemical formulation like phenol, lanolin, and parabens. Don’t use lip balms which have artificial fragrance in it. You can be easily get allergic with such balms as they are not suitable for lips skin and moreover can cause itching and irritation.
5. Don’t resort to habit of always applying lip gloss. Frequent use of lip gloss can shrink your lips and discolor them leading them to make darker.
6. To make your lips more supple and soft apply a coconut oil on lips after every day in morning. Make sure that coconut oil is of genuine quality and is not bleached or chemical based. Also scrub your lips with paste of honey and sugar every alternate day.
7. In case, you have serious irritation and are not getting healed even after application of coconut oil, then immediately see your skin specialist or dermatologist.
8. Avoid eating very hot or cold food stuffs as your lips are very sensitive and can easily get affected by it.
9. Take utmost care of your lips and keep them away from intense weather conditions and harsh sunrays. They can affect your lips very badly.
10. Avoid excess of smoking and drinking.
