Africa Mobile: Burkina Faso And Egypt

Egypt
The Arab Republic of Egypt, located in Northern Africa, borders the countries of Libya, Sudan, the Gaza Strip, and Israel. To the north, Egypt borders the Mediterranean Sea, and the Red Sea borders Egypt's eastern coast. With the Sinai Peninsula in its borders, Egypt has an effective land bridge to Asia.
Egypt's deep and extensive history since 8000 BC has provided the country with a rich culture and society. Between 1882 and 1922, the United Kingdom declared Egypt a protectorate colony, but under the pressure of local revolutions, Great Britain declared Egypt's unilateral independence in 1922. Between 1922 and 2003, Egypt's government structure fluctuated between parliamentary, republic, and democracy, with the latter policy pushed by the current incumbent Hosni Mubarak.
The Nile River, one of the few areas of fertile land in the country, provides not only agricultural sustenance, but also critical for transportation and tourism industries. Connecting the diverse topography of the Red Sea and the Sahara Desert, the Nile River has been an important part of Egypt's past and present.
Egypt's ...
... economy is comprised of a wide and diverse base of industries, including petroleum, tourism, agriculture, and the media. Recently, Egypt developed its marketable fuel resources, such as coal, oil, and gas. Its economic policies won Egypt the IMF ranking of one of the top countries undergoing economic reform.
Today, Egypt's Cairo is the largest city in all of Africa and the Middle East, and the country has a population of more than 77 million, putting Egypt as the most populated country in the Middle East, and coming in second for the African continent.
Burkina Faso
The West African country Burkin Faso borders Mali, Niger, Benin, Ghana, Togo, and the Cote d'Ivoire. Burkina was named by President Sankara, which translate as Land of the Upright People and Men of Integrity.
Originally colonized by France, Burkina Faso gained independence in 1960 and its government is a semi-presidential republic.
As one of the poorest countries in the world, Burkina Faso has the lowest GDP per capita income among all the countries. Most of the country's population works in the agricultural industry, which is 80% of the country's economic activity.
There are over 13 million people who populate Burkina Faso, with approximately 50% of the country following the Muslim religion.
