Age brings with it, it's own set of problems. Where we jumped out of the chair with a spring in our legs, we now struggle to get up and more so, if the chair is not convenient and comfortable. Whether age related or due to mobility-impairing medical problems like arthritis, osteoporosis, or obesity, the first thing doctors tell us is to get a lift chair.

Lift chairs are chairs that are designed to assist people in getting up and sitting down with ease. This alleviates the embarrassing necessity of asking someone for help whenever they wish to get up from a chair. Although they look like any other recliner, they are totally different in functionality.

Lift chairs enable the raising of the seat, so that people do not have to make the effort of lifting themselves up. Here, the chair does the job of lifting them. It not only helps the person stand upfront, but also helps the person in getting into the chair. With the seat tilted, all the person has to do is rest their back against it and push a button, and immediately the seat lowers into the sitting position in a smooth soft movement.

These chairs can ...
... be beneficial for a number of reasons. They are a blessing in disguise for people with disabilities, recovering from surgery, back injuries, diseases of the bones, old age, and so on.

They come in a variety of designs, colors, and fabrics just like any other normal chair. The more expensive the materials used, the costlier the chair would be.

These chairs have a single motor or two motors that help in several motions of the chair. This motor helps the chair move up and down, as well as reclines the back and raises the footrest. If you wish to get out of the chair, all you need to do is push a button and the motor moves the chair into upright position and you will be able to walk out of the chair.

The different types of lift chairs available in the market are casual lift chairs, gentle lift chairs, and the luxury lift chairs. There are ones with reclining positions and also without the recline mechanism.

Whatever the lift chair you choose, to ensure maximum comfort and functionality, be aware of your personal need and requirement more than the look of the chair..
