Water has a therapeutic value and relaxes our body and mind. Bathing is one of life's simple pleasures that ease away the aches of our body as well as the stress in our mind.

This feeling is the same for everyone and there is no soul that does not wish to relax in a bath and feel free of all the tensions. How about people who are disabled or aged? Bath lifts are the ingenious inventions that help them get this therapeutic value of water, in a safe way with no fear of falling down or slipping in the tub. They fit in the bathtub and can lift a person from the bottom of the bath up to the height of the rim.

Bath lifts are extremely helpful for people who have mobility problems and for whom getting into a bath is difficult, even with the help of rails. Walk in showers are another option for these people, but they are very expensive compared to the much cheaper bath lifts.

There are several types of bath lifts available in the market today catering to people with different ailments and problems, to assist different age groups. There are portable bath lifts, inflatable bath lifts, battery powered bath ...
... lifts, reclining bath lifts, and water powered bath lifts, children's bath lifts, and special needs bath lifts. There are Jacuzzi modeled lifts also, for huge Jacuzzi sized baths. The straight bath lifts with straight backs are good for some while reclining ones help relax.

Bath lifts come as battery powered, water operated, and electric powered. They are held in place with suckers in all the four corners of the base of the bath lift, which fixes itself to the base of the tub as soon as it is lowered. This ensures the bath lift is stable without moving.

The ones with the padded seating, which are soft, are very comfortable when compared to lying in the hard bathtub. A sliding transfer board is also sold along with some of these bath lifts. These bath lifts are operated with either buttons or hand held remotes, depending on the type and price.

When buying bath lifts, make sure to check if the bath lift is going deep into the water. This means less water consumption and more pleasure.

The idea behind a bath lift is to let those with problems enjoy the normal pleasures of life. Bathing is one such pleasure that cannot be denied.
