Great comfort, low cost and goods looks are the reasons beach cruisers are becoming extremely popular these days. At least 12 top bicycle manufacturers in the US, with branches offshore, have at least one model of cruiser bikes on the shelf; some have shifted a major part of their production to several lines of cruiser bikes targeting serious sportsmen who prefer comfort over a fast ride.

Cruiser bikes are the most popular new sports equipment in these clubs, as the reliable mechanical performance, comfort and low cost of sturdy cruiser bikes appeal to the average mom and dad for safe and unhurried exercise.

Among the young, cruiser bikes are cool as classic good-looking rides meant exclusively for relaxation after hot sessions on high-speed road racers and bone-jarring mountain bikes.
