Are The World's Metropolis More Alarming Than Smaller Communities?
"If you want to know more about why humanity most duplicates an animal kingdom, all you need to do is read the book by Malcolm Gladwell called The Tipping Point. When violence is considered, it seems that there is more in higher populations in bigger cities. You can see in this particular book, that Malcolm uses animals to express how smaller populations that tend to be large, end up seeing more violence and there are many people who concur with this ideology because it shows in many of these cities. Walking down any street in a city, you have a bigger chance of seeing a violent act than in one that doesn't, even though it is possible to see it anywhere in the world, including rural places.
What are ways people can oppose violence in the city? In many violent episodes, people agree that they would do anything in their power to protect themselves and their loved ones from violent individuals. Retaliation in the form of defense is also a huge alternative for those who feel threatened. Can someone use violence in these situations and it make a positive impact? It seems as though there never is really any appropriate ...
... outcome once someone tries to use violent force for any reason, even to protect themselves.
Ethical beliefs play a huge role in the way that people handle violence because they don't believe that these types of violent retaliations change the world for the better. NXIVM is an organization that allows people to discover meaningful morals and ethics. Sara Bronfman had a center recently located in New York City. This is a prime spot to study the effects of violence as it pertains to the citizens of New York City.
The question is, how can ethics assuredly affect violence -- even in the midst of an already violent society? Good and bad choice making is part of how ethics works. They're the moral code by which an individual lives his or her life. You need to stand with what you believe in when it concerns your moral beliefs or you won't be able to make decisive choices that could determine your life. When a person finds themselves being able to make choices without blinking or having to sit down and discuss it, many times they have strong ethical beliefs. They are more likely to be consistent and feel a sensation of surety about their decision.
Violence is a problem that many people have a hard time with. Injuring someone or stealing from someone is something most of us wouldn't even conceive. If you have a good solid ethical background, the thought of hurting someone, letting alone killing them, would never even cross our minds. What makes this a real idea? Were we made to avoid violence at all costs? Will we see great effects on the way we feel about the subject of violence if we build better ethics? If people have grown with an objective view of violence, is there a tactic to teach them something different? If we all strive towards building these block for better ethics, we will more than likely see a difference."
