Fatigue is a feeling of overwhelming tiredness or exhaustion. Someone suffering with fatigue may feel the need to rest due to a lack of energy or strength. Fatigue may result from extensive work, lack of sleep, stressful life situations, boredom, or lack of exercise. Fatigue is considered to be a symptom and not an ailment or disease. Trying to identify the source of the symptom can be difficult. Some routine things that can trigger fatigue are: disease, infection, medication side effects, medical treatment (chemotherapy), anxiety and depression.

Homeopathic or alternative treatment can be effective in combating fatigue. Some forms of treatment can include those found below.

Ginseng: is an herb that has been used in Asia for centuries to increase energy and combat fatigue.

Traditional Chinese medicine
Ayurveda: is a traditional medicine of India and is thought to improve digestion and eliminate toxins. Ayurvedic herbs may also be used. These include ashwagandha, amla, bala, triphala, and lomatium, which are combined according to the patient's dosha, or constitutional type.
