If you have trouble getting up from a sitting position, or getting into a sitting position, then a lift chair would be a tremendous help in your daily activities. However, choosing a lift chair from the many options that are available can sometimes be an overwhelming task. There are many things to consider when choosing the chair that is right for you.

The first thing that you should consider is your weight. Most lift chairs will handle 375 to 450 pounds of body weight. However, if you need a chair that is equipped to handle a larger weight, then you may need to have one specially designed for you. Your height is also a consideration. If you are shorter, then you will want a chair that sits closer to the ground, obviously. Alternatively, if you are taller, you want a taller chair, so that you will be more comfortable while you are sitting.

There are many additive options available in lift chairs. You will need to decide if you want any extras when you receive your chair. For instance, you can get lift chairs with heat and massage built in. These are excellent for someone going through therapy who needs heat therapy ...
... frequently. You will also find that some chairs have removable arms, to make it easier to transfer from the lift chair to a wheelchair. If you are in a wheelchair, then you might want to consider this option. Arm storage is another feature that some lift chairs have. If you want to be able to store your TV remote, or perhaps your glucose monitor close to you, then the arm storage is available as an option on certain chairs.

Also be sure the check the chair for comfort ability. You will want to ensure that you will be comfortable. Make sure that the seat depth and width are adequate, without being too roomy. Also, if you want to sleep in the chair, there are chairs that fully recline to make a bed. These are 3 position Lift Chairs. They are designed for comfort when sleeping, so they fully recline, and they allow you a wide variety of sleeping positions, and the ability to position your feet above your heart.

There are many styles, colors, and fabrics available in your choice of a lift chair. You may want to find one that will match the room in which you put it. Just make sure that you choose wisely and comfortably. Choosing the right lift chair doesn't have to be a confusing task. Simply research the many types available and choose the options that you will want or need.
