Bulimia is a type of eating disorder which is very common in adolescent and young women. People who suffer from this disorder think that they are fat or over weight in spite of having a normal body weight. They have an intense self disgust or feel very guilty when they eat and end up throwing up most of the food they eat. People with bulimia go on binging and purge cycles with some people abusing laxatives and diuretics, while others will over exercise to lose weight.

Bulimia can be caused due to genetics with some genes pre disposing a person to have bulimia. Bulimia runs in families and people who have relatives with Bulimia have more chances of having the disorder. Social messages and family influences which lead to low self esteem can also lead teenage girls and young women to Bulimia in order to lose weight.

Bulimia affects the entire body and can have short term and long term effects. People with bulimia have gums and teeth infections because of regular vomiting that brings up stomach acid. The enamel of teeth also gets damaged. The stomach acid irritates the oesophagus that causes heartburn. Bulimics usually ...
... eat high calorie foods and are usually constipated because of poor nutrition and laxative abuse. They are under nourished and have mineral and vitamin deficiencies which can affect all the organs in the body. The constant binging and purging also causes electrolyte balance which can be extremely harmful to the heart.

Bulimia also affects the psychological and mental condition of the person. It can cause low self esteem, depression and tiredness which can lead to poor performance. The physical and mental stress caused because of bulimia can affect relations with friends and family. The most extreme effect of Bulimia is death which occurs because of electrolyte imbalance in nearly 10% of people who suffer from Bulimia. The diagnosis of bulimia is difficult as the person who suffers from it hides it from her friends and family. Also, usually the person refuses to acknowledge that she has a disorder and the binging-purging is usually done in secret.

Bulimia is completely treatable and treatment becomes easier if the diagnosis has been done in the early stages. Cognitive behaviour therapy is usually used for treatment of Bulimia which is done in two phases that include breaking the binge – purge cycle and developing a healthy image of oneself. The person is made to understand that self-worth is not related to weight and looks.

Other therapy includes LTA therapy designed by Linda David that promises to cure a person suffering from Bulimia. The LTA therapy believes that most diseases, psychological disorders and physical symptoms originate in the subconscious and not in the body or brain. There are millions of negative patterns in the subconscious mind which is the cause of all problems in life. Linda David has the psychic ability to perceive the subconscious mind of a person and break the patterns that cause the disease. She can break down the negative programmings that are responsible for Bulimia and remove them from the subconscious mind to cure the person of Bulimia forever.

LTA Personal Development specialize in autism, tourette, bulimia, CFS (Chronic fatigue syndrome), bad breath, crying baby, fatigue & many more.
