Ahead To Plan Out Kerala Honeymoon To Perfection

Ever thought of where the scenic song in ‘Dil Se’ with Preity Zinta dances on the houseboat and the lush green background was shot? It is a hunt for this scenic shot that prompted me to plan my honeymoon in Kerala. It took me only few minutes to convince my best half that no other place could be substitute for Kerala.
Once decided, I looked out for places to visit in Kerala. Getting in touch with the right tour operator helped me to plan my Kerala honeymoon package perfect. I was overwhelmed to find out that this small place had all what you can imagine – beaches, backwaters, rivers, lakes, paddy fields, rainforest, and all except desert! I was convinced; this is really ‘Gods Own Country’! We went ahead to plan out Kerala Honeymoon to perfection!
Our flight touched down Trivandrum by noon and the first impression about Kerala was already formed, it is really the land of coconuts. We could see hectares of land covered by Coconut trees, small water streams in between and sea on the other side. As we came out of the ...
... airport, we were promptly received by the tour operator’s car. Our first destination was Kovalam, we checked into our cottage and spend the evening chasing each other at the beach. The place offers you a calm and romantic ambience, not anyone to stare at you and you can really enjoy your private moments together. Next day morning we decided to have a full body massage which was indeed the most relaxing experience I could think of.
By afternoon we set out for the next leg of our Kerala Honeymoon Trip – Alleppey. It is almost 4 hours from Trivandrum but the trip was not very hectic as we stopped couple of times to sip ‘Kerala Chaya’ (local tea). It was our driver who asked us to feel the taste of a few local dishes like ‘vada’, ‘pazham pori’ and ‘puttu’. Our food adventure en route as fully satisfying and by 6 in the evening we checked into our lake side resort. Our package included a candle light dinner on a floating boat and it was organized to perfection by the resort. I could also sense our tour operator being prompt in following up with the resort and driver that their clients were happy. The most exciting part of our Kerala Honeymoon Package was yet to come; we were anxiously waiting for next day morning – house boat cruise.
Around 10 in the morning we boarded the houseboat, it was bigger and much more comfortable than the studio apartment I was living in Delhi! Spic and span, the whole ambience was that of a five star hotel. As we boarded the boat, we were given a welcome drink along with snacks. The boat set off cruising along the backwaters and we were thrilled. The boat driver also encourages you to be behind the wheels for sometime. Authentic Kerala cuisine is served on board and it was indeed one of the most delicious meals I ever had.
Next day morning we headed for Munnar, the tea plagued hill station of Kerala. We could see thousands of hectares of tea estates and cardamom plantations all along. The region is also known for its rich flora and fauna. Our resort welcomed us with a bunch of red roses and our tour operator also surprised us by gifting a photo frame of ours. After yet another romantic stay at Munnar next day morning we left for Cochin from where our return flight was booked. Unfortunately my work schedule did not allow me to spend more time in Kerala. I am sure I would make a second Kerala Honeymoon, off course with my same sweet wife!
Kerala Honey Trip is really one of its kinds and I am sure any place on earth would be hard to substitute this small little ‘Gods Own Country’
