In January this year, LG and T-Mobile announced the forthcoming arrival of the Android Honeycomb-powered T-Mobile G-Slate with Google at the International CES event.
This April saw the launch of their first 4G tablet powered by Google’s Android 3.0, otherwise known as Honeycomb technology, of which has been optimised for tablets such as the T-Mobile G-Slate.
Overview
Android 3.0 Platform (Honeycomb)
The Honeycomb platform was designed specifically by Google for devices with larger screen sizes and also considers the aspects of tablets that are otherwise unique.
The heightened experience gained through the new Honeycomb technology is based upon Android favourites such as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customisation.
Added features will include the latest in Google Mobile innovations such as Google Maps 5.0 offering 3D interaction; space for storing more than 3 million eBooks and Google Talk allowing users to video and voice chat using their tablet.
NVIDIA® Tegra&™ 2 1GHz Dual-Core Processor
...
... Combined with T-Mobile’s 4G network, the NVIDIA® Tegra&™ 2 1GHz Dual-Core Processor creates fast and seamless multitasking computing.
Brilliant 8.9" High-Definition Touchscreen
With an easily viewable 8.9" HD wide-screen, as well as 3D-capable multi-touch display and playback with HDMI® - the T-Mobile G-Slate will not only satisfy gamers, multimedia users but also movie buffs.
Rear 5.0 MP Camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD and 3D Video Capture
With such seamless viewing technology in mind, the T-Mobile G-Slate also features a front-facing camera for video conferencing, a 5.0 MP rear-facing stereoscopic camera with flash for image capture and a 3D and HD video recording option to help capture those moments in motion.
World-Class Browsing
Easily compared to the experience of browsing via a desktop, the tablet is less like a phone allowing for seamless multi-tasking with multiple open tabs, bookmark syncing from other devices, privacy settings, and much more.
