Why Matting Your Photograph?

There’s no question about it, a mat and frame make your photos look amazing!
Matting photos yourself, however, is easy, fun, and cheap!
Matting consists of mounting a photograph into a mat board or pre-cut mat which has the opening size of the photograph has been cut. Make sure the opening is a little smaller than the photograph. The photograph is attached to the back of the mat or backing board with double side tape or archival tape.
Matting a photograph provides four main benefits:
First, Mats will safeguard your photos from touching the glass from the picture frame. This will be significant because with time moisture exposure can harm your photo by leading to your photo to stay with the glass.
Second, once the photograph is framed and displayed matting helps separate the photograph from its surroundings. It adds depth to your photo and can help accent specific colors to really showcase your artwork beautifully. Mats offer unique and different ways to show off your creativity.
Third, matting a photograph makes it more sellable. A matted photograph is a finished product ready to ...
... frame. The easiest way to package your photographs is to mat them, sign them, and insert them into a crystal clear bag. This is an important selling point.
Fourth, but not last, mats can help in framing pictures or artwork in odd sizes.
If you want to avoid the expense of a custom cut mat, but have a picture or piece of artwork in a non-standard size, photo mats can solve your problem. Offering your photographs matted in a standard frame size means your customers can easily buy a ready-made frame and frame the photograph themselves.
