Education is a very important part of the lives of human beings. But unfortunately not everyone gets the opportunity to pursue education. Higher education is a far off dream; even primary education is not available to most. This is one problem that is ever lasting and the world leaders from every part of the world are trying to combat illiteracy by applying different techniques. This article discusses the problems faced by people who have been fortunate enough to complete their primary education but cannot pursue higher education due to a number of reasons and the solution that can overcome their obstacles to help them fulfill their dreams.

The primary and the biggest obstacle faced by people wanting to pursue higher education is finance. The more you climb up the ladder of education and degrees the more costly it becomes and every one cannot afford the luxury of continuing their studies when their families need their support. Distance learning is of two kinds, you can opt for either of the two: correspondence courses or study online. If you choose correspondence courses as your method for distance learning, you will be sent the study materials for your chosen subject by general post. You can study them at your own convenient leisure time and appear for tests in the local centers of the university or the institutes, when you think you are ready. And if you choose to study online , the same process will be followed as above, only the study materials will be sent through e-mails instead of general post and you can sit at your home and appear for an online test whenever you think you are ready to do so.

Whichever method of distance learning you choose, the biggest advantage is that you do not have to attend classes and hence you can continue with your full time job while studying whenever you get the time. In this way, you fulfill all your responsibilities as well as your commitments and move ahead in your career too by pursuing higher studies and achieving a higher degree. Distance learning, be it correspondence courses or study online, costs much less than any regular courses such that you do not need to worry about your finances too. But the value of the course, if done from a good and reputed university or institute, is equivalent if not more than any regular full time courses that not only cost much more but takes more time too.
