There are many slugs that don't harm the humans, but a few species do affect our garden and are called garden slugs. These slugs use up vegetation more quickly than plant growth and may even destroy fairly large plants such as shrubs and small trees. The slow moving creatures are also a menace to farming, chowing down on fresh fruits, vegetables, and various kinds of crops that they can get their slimy body on. So how do we stop these slugs from destroying our beloved garden plants? Here are a few ways to get relief from these annoying garden slugs.
Hand Picking
Hand picking is a basic method in getting rid of slugs. It might not be the least difficult of techniques though, since it might include searching for the slimy insects in the corners of your garden and using your bear hands to pick them up on the ground. It is necessary you have precise information on the actual slugs that can cause destruction to your gardens vegetation in order to focus on the right pests you need to destroy. You can notice them after rainfall or during moist and humid weather conditions. Be prepared to put down traps and pellet baits when in this weather condition. You could also try cleaning your garden by moving away dead logs and big rocks that serve as resting places for slugs and other dangerous pests in your garden.
