Bank jobs in India are considered as a very lucrative career option. Every year Lakhs of students appear for Bank jobs at various positions. Because of the openings from scratch to top, even the students opt for this and take part in the recruitment process held by different banks.Post-Liberalization phase, many private-sector banks were coming to the Indian market. The Liberal economy provided a solid boost to the Banking sector and it opened the flood of opportunities for the Freshers as well as experienced persons to pursue their career in Banking. The growing banking sector has generated both direct and indirect employment for the unemployed youths.

With the entry of private-sector banks, we saw the usage of information technology being vastly used by banks in their day to day operations. The use of information technology gave a new dimension to the banking concept. ICICI bank was one such bank which brought a paradigm change in the banking sector. The usage of technology created job opportunities for many educated youths who are techno savvy.

This created a great demand for specialists who can offer their services to such banks. The vertical growth in banking sector caused growth for their employees as well. With the change in outlook of banking, bank jobs are no more that traditional clerical job with limited growth. It has helped the employees to move across verticals and create a niche for themselves.

The entry of private players made the market very competitive. With the growing demand for highly skilled human resource, there is a cut-throat competition among the banks to retain their employees. It ultimately benefits the employees.

Today, the banking sector offers jobs to the youths right from matriculated person to a post-graduate person. Thus, it is helping the unemployed people to pursue their professional career along with their academic career.

The general staff structure of a bank includes 01 branch manager, a few assistant managers across vertical to assist him in operations, a few at supervisory level to monitor the operations and clerical staffs to execute the regular jobs. With the vertical growth in the banks, today business management graduates are high in demand for middle- management level.

Apart from this, the introduction of information technology created demand for experts in that field who make a very important part of the back-office operation of the banks. They provide a very crucial support to the banking operations without being involved in operations.

Keeping in mind the above-mentioned facts, it is quite obvious that bank jobs are becoming flavor of the season due to tremendous growth opportunities. India still provides a huge market for banking sector as the rural India is still untouched. Many leading Banks are now focusing on increasing their base in the rural areas. With the rural area being the main priority, we can expect many more job opportunities offered by the banking sectors.
